Sony BRAVIA KDL55HX820 Reviews

I spent a long time to read reviews before making a purchase and I am very glad I took a chance on this relatively new Sony. It seems to have all the features of more expensive XBR series, but uses local dimming LED lighting device, rather than the backlight. This makes it thinner, which was for me more important than quality of the images for my application. I also have a uniform thickness and is mounted on wall very close to my house.

This is a subjective matter. However, I heard that Sony TV has a much better finish of the Samsung D8000. The Sony looks like a perfect setting for the image and feel with glossy black finish. With Sony, you can also turn on the TV at a certain angle (the angle is fixed), similar to a tilt screen of the laptop to work.

Update the firmware as soon as you arrive at the latest features such as streaming video and multimedia, the iPhone remote control (available via the App Store) is working properly. Qriocity did not work due to the recent failure of security, but should return soon. Pandora and Netflix streaming works very well. The sensor is better when set to non-motion detection, if not bad for face recognition when there is strong back-lighting.

DLNA streaming leaves much to be desired, as it does not support MKV, XVID, or other popular video formats. It also took a long time to start playing a normal MPEG file that I sent my laptop with Windows 7. Simply connect to my DLNA WDTV transmitting live from my laptop, which has resolved everything worked much better. The images and the music seems to work well anyway. When connected to a PC, Windows 7 Media Center via HDMI or DVI, the screen looked better than my computer screen. It was so clear-cut that can be easily used in place of a projector for presentations and Starcraft II looked amazing.

3D, I felt looked better with a WOW factor (as in the film) of Sony as compared Samsung. Things seemed to fly off the screen, instead of Samsung. But I had a very interesting observation. While watching movies, I felt that I look at a Samsung home video (shot Handycam video on the staff). With the Sony I felt I was watching a real movie. To feel the same when you watch a Samsung?

Summary: This is a nice and slim 3D TV. It has a beautiful crystal clear images. Excellent photos and digital images in high definition. Features such as the Internet YouTube, Netflix, eBay and more. I recommend this TV. Before, I had a 42 HDTV and now I have updated 55 3D HDTV and I love it. 3D is incredible, I put 2D,3D depth and 3D is really like in the movies, the image really alive.
