Samsung PN50C680 50-Inch Plasma 3D HDTV - Excellent Plasma TV

Samsung PN50C680 50-Inch 1080p Plasma 3D HDTVThis review center around PN50C680 Samsung plasma TV that I bought as part of a special TV + 2 pairs of 3D glasses the promotion of the Amazon. After spending several weeks searching for a replacement for my Panasonic TH-50PZ800U plasma, I chose this Samsung. There were positive reviews, but very limited for this TV - It seems that most of the market these days are directed to the super-thin, LED-backlit 3D TV. Thanks to the generous return policy of Amazon sales of packages and special leave / I decided to take a chance on this model.

I received the TV without problems - Shipments and unpacking went beyond the box did not have the vision and the interior angles of polystyrene has not had impact damage. As previously mentioned, the Samsung PN50C680 is not a super-thin, single-pane models. It is about 2.5" thick, compared to 1.5" - I always consider how a TV subtle but at the end of the day, "thickness" is a personal preference.

The wiring was very easy, as links in the back of the TV had been clearly identified. HTPC owners happy to know that HDMI 1 is tagged to receive the signals of the video card and offers wide compatibility for those using DVI-HDMI dongle. The TV and the HD signal is automatically recognized by my Fios service and Blu-Ray with no problem. Fortunately, the TV was not a "buzzer", as some Samsungs are known to be.

Here is the discussion tends to be preferences. I think the first image area outside was not very good. It been too much contrast and bright as the most "picture enhancements" have been set up high-end o. Although these settings are ideal for store displays to counter the ceiling lights are far from ideal. for my home theater environment I brought my calibration WOW Disney Blu-Ray and performing the necessary image quality was again much better than the first out of a box -. Colors were very accurate, you can see the details in the shadows/objects, and the overall image was very realistic. The black levels are excellent (although it could not compete with the legendary Pioneer Kuro). This is an improvement on my previous Panasonic plasma 2 years.

The best thing you can do to maximize the performance, quality, and to some extent, the consumption of a television is through calibration. This can be done both professionally (usually leads to better performance, although very expensive) or a decent Blu-Ray Calibration (improves performance and is inexpensive ~ $20 - $30). I would say that the sound quality was very good - and the lack of bass, but sound is very clear, no static or hum. In addition, there are several options in the settings of the TV to adjust the sound to such an equalizer and function Virtual Surround.

The TV also offers a wide range of goodies such as 3D capability, USB ports for playing back movies, music, pictures and external storage, Ethernet port, and a compatible wireless adapter (not included). Conversion from 2D to 3D was pretty good but not exceptional - it is as if there was a suspect,It added depth when an image converted to 3D displays. You can change the degree of depth in the TV's settings, but the settings gave me a severe headache. However, the quality of the 3D really shines once you view 3D content from Blu-ray native 3D content, or cable. Shrek 3D - the disc just me - it was great because it was like being in a cinema. This is a feature that can not wait to native 3D content is once again released.

Even if your TV has an Ethernet port, not all Internet applications such as Facebook, Netflix, Hulu, etc. This is a great loss for me that my Blu-Ray has these features - just something to think about if you TV needs a more "connected". Last but not least, the TV must be "broken", as it suffers from image retention. I was breaking the TV for a week of playing DVD / TV programs downloaded and no longer holds the images. I would not recommend to play or watch shows with static content (HUD, channel icons, black bars, etc.) for a week or when you get on TV.

LG Infinia 55LW5600 55-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV with Smart TV - Great Value

LG Infinia 55LW5600 55-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV with Smart TV (Included: Four Pairs of 3D Glasses)We are the value consumers. Not early adopters. I'm not a video or audiophile. Generally understand how we can afford to spend, what features we want, and then wait for the right product at the right time. Frys Electronics had a TV for $1199 with eight pairs of glasses. Made with 36 months free financing. Can not beat that.

Unlike most, this is our first HDTV. We have oscillated between the desire of this technology is quite ridiculous and I thought why not watch television and see so many DVDs. But after a while we decided it was time for us to enter the new millennium, a gap in our TV tubes 24" and go into the land of high-definition 3D. We are glad we did. This series has exceeded our expectations at all levels. Well, maybe it was easy to do, as we expected little or should I say, we did not know what to expect. First, we discuss our experience of transport and television.

My thoughts on the TV to get their hands on the box was that it was a TV inflatable. It looked like a certain size in the store, but expanded a bit 'mysterious' when we had to put it in the truck. In a sense, almost filled the bed of our pick-up compact with a foot 8/2.4 meters read. TV and expanded once again when we arrived in our den. Let's say I do not mind at all, you do not get 60" TV. Our viewing distance is 11 feet/ 3.3 meters from the TV. This packet size is certainly big enough for the distance and I suspect, quite a few good.

The installation, our biggest fear, was trivial. In fact, there was no installation. The only thing that has been a part of the effort is the configuration of WiFi and the new, the feeling that television (we got the wireless network card in the pack) instantly. My only concern was to reach the 128-bit encryption, which brought me time before figuring out how to switch the remote control of the alpha channel for digital output (and back).

We have added two HDMI and one component for our sources. To my surprise, the TV inputs received from a signaling device and turned on the port for that device. If two devices are both reports, the TV will ask you where you want to use. There are two configuration screens. The first screen is useful for quick access to necessary adjustments in most cases. The other is the full setup screen where you can break your heart's delight in setting up the various elements of the experience HD. Since I am a little deaf years of the bike, I changed the sound setting to a kind of boring to improve and I am pleased to report that it works perfectly. Now I can see and hear clearly the volume levels of the word my wife says are comfortable for her. It was impossible, on any device. I wish I could give 6 stars for sound quality.

The TV picture is amazing in every way. There is no bleeding, no flashlighting hum and no noise or anything. It just perfect. Given an input, such as a DVD or Blu-ray launch a HD, the image goes beyond the expectations of amazing. We have seen an HD launch "of something from Star Wars and Stith (#3 and #6 Star Wars series of films based on how you count) and I could not believe the absolute perfection of the image. In fact, we were immersed in the eye Today I can not tell you what a Stith is either because there is a war on a star.

We tried the 3D from a Blu-ray source. The effect is, we thought, better than in a theater. Unlike some here claim, we saw no degradation in the passive vs. the active 3D glasses. We experienced no headaches or dizziness from the 3D. We found the 3D experience to be a benefit rather than just a gimmick. I ordered a Blu-ray DVD of Avatar in 3D. We can't wait.

Samsung SSG-3100GB 3D Active Glasses - Nice and Comfortable!

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21b8rQwvTkL.jpg
These glasses are the best! These are for 2011 Samsung TV. They are very comfortable and will also be the right fit over your glasses. My 4 year old daughter wears them, even without a complaint. So you can add them all. They are lightweight and battery life is great. Usually I get about 70 hours of a couple. Can I buy a package of 10 replaceable batteries for a couple of dollars and they last me a year or more.

These glasses work great for me. I use them with PN59D6500 Samsung 3D Plasma and the picture quality is breathtaking. I had two pairs of these with the basic package of Shrek/Harry Potter has bought another pair for $150 from BB and have only two more pairs for just under $50 each on Amazon. I liked for $150, but loooove for less than $50.

I prefer non-rechargeable, such as a family is a pain in the ass in turn 4 or 5 pairs on prices, to understand what needs to reload, etc. Very easier to keep some batteries around. In addition, the Bluethooth use, and as such have considerable autonomy. I used two pairs of glasses for more than 48 hours of 3D vision and the batteries are still strong.

Its nice to have updated Bluetooth. Now you can go anywhere in a range of time and will continue to operate. They work right out of the box. All you have to do is charge a battery. They are compatible with the current Samsung TV. While each manufacturer makes their glasses and are generally not compatible with each other. I believe that the active glasses are much better than "3D" passive technology. But this seems a choice between producers. Sure passive glasses are cheaper, but personally I do not think the 3D effect is impressive. However, the only experience I had with passive glasses to watch TV at my local Best Buy to take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I am very pleased with these glasses and they look wonderful movie in 3D! Samsung has dropped the price of about $50 now so they are very convenient. I have three pairs of glasses and is rechargeable, and two of them are much more comfortable on my head. They are lighter and more balanced. I'm also a little less than the rechargeable batteries (plus the battery does not bend upward). A couple that I received from Amazon was defective from the box, but Amazon was quick to do well. Feel free to take these glasses! They are great!

LG 42PW350 42-Inch 720p Active 3D Plasma HDTV Buying Guide

LG 42PW350 42-Inch 720p Active 3D Plasma HDTVI have had this TV for a week and spent some time playing with it and watch more television, more films, both 2D and 3D. I think I now have a good idea of how this TV performs.

Now I want to go into details a little more for my calibration process and how this TV performs. In fact, the accuracy and grayscale color TV very well in "Cinema". I used my colorimeter, download a free copy of the software and the AVS HD 709 calibration disk ColorHCFR calibration model to test the colors and shades of gray. I found the video mode has a good range, color temperature, brightness and accuracy. It's not perfect, but it is not too far away. The contrast must be a little higher, but for a way out-of-the-box, is very good. If someone does not bother with the calibration, just go to the Cinema mode and increase the contrast a little, and is ready to go.

For those who are interested in more advanced calibration, the TV has two advanced imaging modality called "Expert 1" and "Expert 2" with small "ISF" logos. These two modes are all you need to calibrate advanced ISF is certified by a professional or do it yourself (although I dig these "experts" However, I am not an "expert", not even close BTW). Go deep into one of two "expert" modes, you can adjust the RGB channels (both contrast and brightness), color filters are used to adjust the color saturation and hue. TV up to 20 control points of curves grayscale. Although this adjustment can be difficult to use and allows more accurate grayscale. There is also a control of primary and secondary colors for the CMS (Color Management System), which are rarely found in entry-level or mid-range TV.

I spent a couple of hours playing with these advanced controls and the results were surprising. Luminance, gamma, color temperature curves were all very close to the objectives deltaE with very low values. Of course they are not as low as I can get my monitor with the graphics card, but these figures and graphics are excellent for a TV. After calibration, the colors are natural and smooth skin tones look great. Watch movies in 3D. I noticed that some crosstalk / ghosts in some dark scenes, but it seems that this problem depends on the content. I have seen very little ghosting when watching 3D tangled, almost no problem with the last wave 3D Tahiti and a little more of Shrek 1 and 2 in 3D.

However, it was also where I found an annoying problem as I said. The picture modes seems to be working independently in different display modes, including TV and Blu-ray. I have a Blu-ray player connected via HDMI. All my calibration has been done in this vision with the use of my Blu-ray. After everything was set and I got my desired results, there is no way to apply the calibrated parameters for all inputs. I calibrated profile "Expert 1" (Blue-ray display mode) on TV does not have the same parameters, does not really change at all. I had to manually copy the number from my notes and transfer them one by one. I found it very annoying, but not a big problem and I could get around him. But it is very strange.

Another problem that I found rather strange is the expert of profiles, image are disabled in 3D display mode. So, all the calibrated results are meaningless if you watch movies in 3D. I understand that all energy-saving functions are disabled in 3D mode, but the calibrated profiles are gone too? Very strange. Fortunately, the profile image "Cinema" is still working and as I said, what a good job.

This TV doesn't have any internet streaming service but who really needs it because if you buy a 3D TV, it's almost certain that you have or will have a 3D Blu-ray player and all 3D Blu-ray players have internet streaming capability. Why we need to pay more for a similar feature in a TV as well?

In summary, Although this TV is certainly NOT among the best out there, not even close; It is an excellent TV, especially for the money. Having a lot of advanced picture controls is a huge plus. Excellent picture quality for the money. Despite some annoying but minor issues I found, I still give this TV 5 stars for its quality and value.

**Pros:
- Inexpensive
- Pretty good looking
- 3D
- Many advanced controls for tweaking picture quality, ISF calibration ready, as LG put it. This is a huge plus for an entry level TV
- Excellent picture quality and color accuracy, especially after being properly calibrated
- Low power consumption for a plasma TV, has built-in smart power-saving feature. After being calibrated, it's less than 100 watts in 2D mode which is very low for a plasma TV and within the territory of LCD TVs.

**Cons:
- Only 720p. This actually doesn't bother me because I hardly notice any difference in picture quality compared to my 1080p TV unless I get very close, something like 2-3 feet or so.
- A small annoying issue I found when I tried to calibrate the TV. No big deal but still annoying. I will explain later.
- Looks like a mirror. This is actually a problem for all plasma TVs, the technology itself. If your room is not dark enough, or the TV is facing a window, the reflection can be pretty bad. High end plasma TVs have some sort of filter or something like that to reduce reflection but they cost a lot more. If your room is pretty bright, get ready to buy a dark curtain.

LG Infinia 55LW6500 55-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 240 Hz LED HDTV with Smart TV Buying Guide

LG Infinia 55LW6500 55-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 240 Hz LED HDTV with Smart TV (Included: Four Pairs of 3D Glasses)This is my first time leaving a review on product I bought online. First of all .... WOW. I think it's an amazing TV. For a while,in my history, I've been waiting and waiting to finally get a television until now. I did my homework, read the TV reviews in different way, and what they offer. I am the person of the film and large HD picture is really important to me. I was checking the 5600 and was very happy with what I saw at Best Buy. The reason I bought the 6500 was because of the price at Amazon (updated picture quality and 240 Hz also helped. The price was so good, in fact, that probably would not have been able to get this TV otherwise.

The drawbacks are not very many and not too much of a game-changer. One, there are no audio outputs on your TV is not an optical output. If you have a system of his inheritance which has an optical input, is not the end of the world. For an extra ~ $25 or you can get a stereo adapter, which transfers the optical signal to analog composite or RCA coaxial. $100 to get one that will do Dolby Surround (I had to do). And one off bit of space, and I was trying to get a new home theater system, but it was necessary for me to get (and save a few hundred dollars more), which has a ton more gaming devices and video use. It 's easier to run a single audio output to connect your home theater system and everything else on television do not have to change the settings too. I think there is a lack of audio output with the games of most new cases. The digital age takes over, I think.

We have not looked at the 3D source content, but are completely blew up the conversion from 2D to 3D. We watched TV for HD sources, the series "Oceans" (a lot of underwater photography) and Blu-ray for arial view of Italy. Both were amazing. The underwater pictures, as if we looked out the window of a submarine, and arial shots as we were actually looking through a window of a helicopter. Our hats are off to developers of software from LG! The effect is like looking through a window, but as with any depth of field is created at a distance from the screen. Nothing obvious in the room, but the effect is very realistic depth of field.

HD 2D image is fantastic. Converting 3D is just fantastic, but with bluray, or even HDTV. I watched the final baseball, basketball and hockey in 3D forced. Impressive. I also think that HDTV makes the picture look better. Blu-Ray 3D - The first night I received the TV, I jumped into the real tough Tron in 3D and I was absolutely blown away. I know that there is much talk of shock absorbers against liability and loss of quality between the two, believe me, I was too nervous to ...... image / detail was beautiful. If there is no loss, and I would be hard to say no, not worth the debate when you add the cost of non-3D glasses.

PS3 3D game - is just great. Black Ops and MLB The show is much more fun. Bring your game to the next level. I have not experienced lag, as mentioned in other reviews, but I have my Tru-Motion to put down. Set-up and Menu - Set up was easy and intelligent TV features are great. Quick and easy to navigate. The fact that there is a phone jack head was great. I plugged my computer speakers Klipsh and the sound is perfect for the size of the room that we have at this time. It saves the need to buy a surround sound / receiver right away. The sound / volume of the television of today is not bad, I mean it lacks range, but hey, it's a flat screen. With all the negative talk, I expected the sound is much sweeter than / worse than it is.

I know this is not a coach super-critical, but a person who is waiting to be awesome, this TV is. If in doubt, do not worry, that's all. I suggest you go through the color scheme. What makes the difference and does not take much time. I had some friends the other day and showed them some of these characteristics and we were surprised, especially the 3D part. Hope this helps!

Toshiba 46WX800U 46-Inch 1080p 240 Hz Cinema Series 3D LED TV Review

Toshiba 46WX800U 46-Inch 1080p 240 Hz Cinema Series 3D LED TV, BlackChoosing: I have been on the market for a new TV, but I was not going to get a 3D TV until I saw the sale on Amazon, which had included the Blu-ray glasses from $1,299. That good to pass up since I was planning to spend close of a normal LED/LCD TV anyway. There have been some sales of Panasonic and Samsung, but I chose Toshiba. This TV was replaced by 3.5 years, 50" Toshiba HD DLP. It was a very good 3D product, so I decided to exercise a little of brand loyalty. In addition, since Toshiba was one of the the last big manufacturers to release their 3D TV, I thought it would be probably the best picture, because they had more time to perfect their technology. This may be a flawed logic, but it worked for me. there was virtually no comment when I bought this TV, so I kept my fingers crossed.

Shipping:  I've been waiting for this thing as get to me - although it took me for five days, it seemed forever! The box had a huge hole in it (seemed to have kicked) and the back of the TV had a small dent. I signed up for this with the recognition that has been unprecedented, so if it did not work, I could return it. These things have an expedition is known to be rough on packages. The hematoma does not bother me (how it worked), so I brought home.

Installing: Back to home, was out of the box. This TV is very thin! It also surprisingly heavy (not too big, but is heavier than it looks). The base is attacked as it should be - pretty self explanatory. Plugged it and turned on. The TV I walked through the configuration as it should. The picture is very great - I do not have cable (I know), but the OTA stations seemed wonderful. It was very clean pictures. The response time was very quick to change channels (it was a bit slow on the DLP TV) Toshiba has options to change the image are endless -. I'm still tinkering with the image (although as it is made out the box is great).

With 3D: I bought A Christmas Carol, and Monsters Vs. Aliens (excluding eBay) in 3D. The installation is identical to a standard DVD player, but I think you need a HDMI 1.4 to transmit the 3D image. I hope this front, but fortunately I did some research before the TV arrived and ordered a cable for $7. It's not a big deal, but I would be angry if I had to make a trip to Best Buy to buy a $50 cable. For glasses, just pull the tab of the battery-saving light (you will see, if you do not know what I mean) and is ready to go. You can tell when the glasses are allowed because the changes of light through the lens. I think I had to change the TV to automatically detect the 3D, but a message appears and tells you what to do when you see a disk in 3D, so all you have to do.

STANDARD/Blu-Ray: Fantasy. There is not much more. It is a beautiful image with incredible detail. I thought that with old DLP HD Toshiba was a great movie, but I do not know if I will be able to look back on this TV due to the improvement on it. My blu-ray was really amazed at this TV. There are many settings, you can do for the you like picture, which is nice (I use no doubt, but is more of a comfort thing).

I did not know what to expect. After I ordered the 46" I started reading you need a bigger screen to enjoy 3D and I'm worried. Fortunately, it was not true! The picture is much more alive only in theaters. When I put A Christmas Carol, all I could do was smile. I read a lot of stuff here and there, people had questions about the 3D television ghosts and double images. It 's actually happened during a scene from A Christmas Carol , but I'm not really sure why (was that a character's nose has a ghost image during a scene) and it did not happen in other parties or other movies. I made it clear that the 3D image is better when the TV is about setting the most. I'm sure someone can explain why, but I can not. This was especially true during A Christmas Carol, a film that is very "dark" to begin.

Summary: Spend the money for this Toshiba 3D if you're in the market for a new TV. Amazon is current agreement includes everything you need for 3D (except for HDMI 1.4), and the picture is incredible. I think it will take long before the 3D TV falls much lower (at least a good). There is not much in terms of 3D media at the moment but I will.

Panasonic DMP-BDT100 Full HD 3D Blu-ray Disc Player Review

Panasonic DMP-BDT100 Full HD 3D Blu-ray Disc PlayerPanasonic DMP-BDT100 3D Blu-ray is currently one of the cheapest Blu-ray 3D, but this does not mean sacrificing performance for cost savings. The player offers a robust set of options for streaming (Netflix, Amazon VOD, YouTube, Pandora, etc.) and very good upconverted DVD and Blu-ray extraordinary, for the same price as many standard 2D Blu-ray. UPDATE: Vudu is now available on BDT100 via a firmware update recently and the server.

It is a great player for the price Panasonic Bluray 3D. Like its sister BDT300  and BDT350 players ,you can choose the setting for the card, which works perfectly with my Mitsubishi WD60-737. I use it to stream Netflix movies. My first 3D experence, I have to say I was very impressed watching the movie Monster House Develop X102 glasses.

I waited to buy the Blu-ray 3D because it was half the price of BDT350. I was a little concerned if it was so good? I must say that this player is great. I saw the movie on the Panasonic has sent me to buy the 50-inch VT25 3D television. Now it's time to choose the film a little more! I a technician, but 3D is great that the film sent. I'm glad I went with Panasonic seem to have an advantage in 3D! I wanted to buy 3D glasses for the most part I only waited for the off-BDT100. Why spend money on a player when you can fit the whole family with 3D glasses! I made the right decision!

The player lacks some features compared to the top of the range DMP-BDT350: no dual HDMI output (only required if you use this with an old receiver is not compatible with the 3D), multi-channel analog outputs (not for use receivers with HDMI) is not integrated network and Wi-Fi (can be added via the wireless LAN adapter Panasonic). It also provides a user interface has a modern graphical user interface clumsy on the basis of what is seen by the current LG and Samsung Blu-ray, although it is higher than that of the user menu on the Pioneer players. However, the DMP-BDT100 provides all the basics and several advanced features, such as a strong high-definition video and audio performance. The player has passed all tests and films upconvert detection frequency of "Britney Spears and Munsil" and "HQV benchmark" DVD and Blu-ray also offers a brilliant and wide-format color prints 24p 4:04: 04 (24 options Output images / second) for both DVD and Blu-ray. If the disks are mainly money like watching movies, then there is little to fault in BDT100.

We have noticed a peculiarity with Netflix streaming BDT100. SD streaming content from Netflix, we saw something called "cue" (chroma upsampling error or "chroma bug"). This is something that can occur when a compressed video source has its color information upconverted to restore details lost in the process of color compression. BDT100 this upconversion is imperfect, which can lead to visible color bands or jagged edges on the borders between colors. The problem is obvious that the content definition Netflix streaming standard. Netflix HD DVD, Blu-ray Disc does not have this problem. And, frankly, that formed the eye could not even notice.

It becomes more evident when we move towards larger screens (eg, front projection systems), but some content can be viewed on screen size SD Netflix as the most common 42-inch and above. When asked if the problem is a deal-breaker for you or not, depends on how the standard-definition Netflix streaming to be done, and if the chroma bug is something that bothers you. But it would be negligent not to mention it. According to our contacts at Panasonic are aware of the problem and are working to find a solution.

If Netflix SD content is not part of your media plan, then we give an unqualified recommendation BDT100. But if you're watching a lot of standard definition content streamed from Netflix, then you may want to look elsewhere or wait to see if Panasonic can offer a solution to this problem BDT100. Our more detailed examination of the player is available on our Web site at Big Sound (dot com).
